It's me! Avery! I know. You expected "goo goo, gah gah", right? My mommy says I'm very advanced. And she also thinks Look Who's Talking really happens. We'll go with it.
It's my two-month birth anniversary today! I don't like to brag, but the other night I slept through the night. Then I did it again the next night, 'cause I'm a rock star. But last night I woke up twice just 'cause I wanted to hang out. All that sleeping is so boring!
Speaking of sleeping, Daddy has this app on his phone that tells him how "efficient" his sleeping is. He puts his phone under his pillow and it tracks every time his noggin moves. Mommy thinks it's slightly ridiculous that he paid $2.99 for that, but Daddy has some sort of master plan for how to use this data. All this technology blows my developing mind. I'll give it a year before trying to get myself on the family plan.
What else is new...let's see...oh! I'm playing this game with Mommy where we see how many outfits I can destroy in one day. For some reason she's not as jazzed about this as I am. Weird. Anyway, the record to break is 4. That was a good day, I felt really healthy. We also play "how many times can I spit out my Binkie before Mommy stops giving it back to me?" I got lots of tricks up my onesie sleeves.
Where is all my coo-rambling going, you ask? I just wanted to tell you about this chicken that Mommy made last night 'cause I know how much you guys like food. She used this weird contraption that sat on the kitchen island all day and gradually made the house smell the opposite of our Diaper Genie, and by the time Daddy came home their dinner was ready!
I don't really pay attention when they talk...too much baby-talk for my liking...but their meal-time conversation sounded a lot like this: "Wah wah wah wah, mmmmmm. Wah wah wah, wah wah wah, this is really good babe, wah wah wah."
Anyway, this must have been really easy because she made the whole thing with one free hand. And she said to tell you that even though the picture above looks like something out of my diaper, this recipe was delicious, easy, and light.
That's all for now! I'll hit you guys back up in a month when I have a few more leg rolls to show off. Those are pretty coveted in the baby circle.
XOXO - Avery
Crock Pot Balsamic Chicken
Adapted from around the Internet
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp dried minced onion
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1/2 c balsamic vinegar
2 tbs fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Combine the oregano, garlic powder, minced onion, salt and pepper in a zip-top bag. Add the chicken tenders, and toss to coat the chicken evenly with the spices.
Line your crock pot with a plastic liner (if desired), and coat the bottom of the pot with the olive oil and the minced fresh garlic. Place the chicken tenders on top, and arrange into an even layer. Pour the vinegar over top, and flip the chicken around to coat it, being careful to rearrage back into an even layer.
Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours. Garnish with parsley as desired, and serve with rice or potatoes and your favorite vegetable.
